Hi,
Simple answers needed from people who have had experience programming these devices with Flash/actionscript... The school I work at is purchasing Macromedia Studio Pro 8. I want to use it to develop software with my students for mobile devices (preferably pocket pc's)... we will purchase one soon as a testbed, then if useful will purchase a class set... I realize Flash Player 6 works with Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket Pc's, as I have seen software for these on the net, and there are templates for these devices with Flash Pro 8. There aren't any templates for Windows Mobile 5.0. What I need to know, since I can only purchase brand new Pocket PC's and they only ship with Windows 5.0 now, does Flash Player 6 install and work with this new platform? If not, what can be done? (i.e. is there a player that does work with it, such as Flash Player 7?) Any recommendations of PDA to use? I have done actionscripting with my students on standalones, and I know that older legacy software usually works with newer window systems, but i am not sure with mobile operating systems.. tottaly newbie on this and things that usually make sense may not now... want to make sure, and salespeople I have talked to, even at macromedia/adobe have no clue, as salespeople at computer stores too... any other advice as to purchases and/or other implemenattions well appreciated.
Additionally, since i dont have a cell phone (believe it or not), and there are many cell phones supproted by flash pro 8 and now flash lite 2.0, can I use a cell phone (not signed on with a service phone plan), to develop software for it without subscription? And if so, how do is the software installed on the device (i know this last qiestion may seem silly, but really, I stay away from phones, but love to code for standalones, till now... kids are asking for it too)
