For those of you who didn't know, they were showing a special five minute preview of The Two Towers with the Fellowing of the Ring, this weekend. The Two Towers looks like it will be just as good as the first one of the trilogy. There were lots of giant battles and plenty of new characters.
The movie is due out this December. For fans of the movies/books, this is very exciting stuff.
I found some pictures of two of the new characters.

It should be better- The second and third books had more action and moved a bit faster than the first book. As they shot the movies all at the same time I would venture to guess that they are all of the same or higher quality.
I wonder what they are going to do with the Ents though or if they are just going to cut that bit out all together like they did the Tom bit.

It ended at about the same spot that the Fellowship of the Ring Ended. You do know that there are 3 books and hence 3 movies? Although I am not sure why they decided to space them out over three years. Every 6 months would have done but if they did that then The Two Towers would have been released about the same time as Star Wars eps 2, Spider Man, and Star Trek 10. They know what they are doing by putting it out around christmass where action movies of this nature are usually put out around summer.
I think the full trilogy is suppose to be about 10 hrs of movie, which nobody would sit ion a theatre for although once all three of them are out I wonder if they will have an all day showing of the three movies. If you read the Lord of the Rings out loud- all three books its something like 56 hrs. They did a pretty good job of editing down fellowship and still remain mostly true to the story.

Rejoice, because there was an Ent in the preview. One of the Hobbits were hidding behind a tree and the tree had an eye looking at him. They're probably saving that as a surprise.
I don't see how they could have cut them out, they play a pretty big part in the books.
