Multiple button, layering problem

I've got 12 buttons in two rows, 6 on the top row and 6 on the bottom row. When moused over, each button increases in size about 150%.

The problem is that when a button is on a lower layer, when the image increases to 150% a portion of it is behind other buttons and not visible.

How can I make it so the moused over portion is ALWAYS on the top, always fully visible. Putting all the buttons on the same layer does not seem to solve the problem.

you need to investigate the 'swapdepths' property.. i've never used it specifically but i'm pretty sure that's the answer to your problem.
