    opinions: the actual use of scenes?

    Hey All, i've been using flash for a few years and on this forum for a while and i've always wondered what the hell is the actual benefit of using scenes other that to add traffic to help forums like these??

    I agree with you!
    When you use actionScript (and if you don't, you don't come here!) just don't use scenes!
    They just cause trouble, and there is nothing that you do with them, that you don't do using frames...
    Maybe if you're making animation, you can use them... They may let you organize your work better...
    I think it would be the only point: organization...

    yeah ... but why doesn't macromedia phase it out gradually and lets say... i dunno put a line down the timeline to show its a separate area of the scene and which users can target?

    OH YEAH ITs CALLED A FRAME LABEL!

    you ought to bring it up at the macromedia board.

    I think frame labels are not as visible and easy to navigate through as scenes. I have used scenes to visually and forcefully break up parts of a flash movie for clients to read easier and separate info easier. Sometimes things aren't so cut and dry to make scenes useful. Scenes should have the functionality that frame labels do, I agree.
