html page to load flash movie
I have a flash movie i have made which will be the menu for my site but i dont want it embedded in an html page as the movie is just like a square box thatll come up on your screen then from that each link on it will open different pages.
I have been told I will need to make an html page for my index.html that will open when you go to my url, and then set that to open the flash movie and automatically close the index.html?
Could some1 tell me how I go about doing this and what code i will need to put in the index.html page? also if u can set it for a certain amount of time to keep the index.html open for b4 opening the flash movie how wud u add that to it ?
cheers for any help

Your going to have to use frames to do that. The flash menu will be in one frame and load the other pages into another frame. It can be done, but I don't know the exact code for the flash buttons, and never worked much with frames.
The only other way is to use a popup for the menu, and it's going to have a border and top bar around it.

I dunno if this will help you or not but I just embed the flash movie right into the index page and leave it open. As long as your flash is setup with menu buttons inside it to navigate around like you would setup an html site, then the index page would be the only html page you would need. Just upload the swf file along with the index.html file to your server. I use Dreamweaver to build pages with and it generates the code automatically whenever you drag and drop the movie in the html page. I'm sure other website software does something similar. Here's a link to a site I did with flash that only used two html pages. It's not titled index but only because I had a splash page titled index.
