Web Content Tutorials?

I'm looking to develop a flash website and was wondering if you could help point me in the right direction.

I want to build a lightweight browser-friendly site. I've surfed through some of the tutorials here as well as the stock Macromedia tutes and haven't found anything too specific. Am I making it harder than it should be? Probably...

To be specific, I guess I'll need to create a preloader and a basic interface.

I know it doesn't sound like rocket-science but I always like to get a little help from those more experienced than myself.
