New Canon lenses
The zoom fisheye will open up a lot of doors- and at 8mm on a FF!

Canon 70-300L - Didn't see the L being added to this! Goes against their 70-200 range but we'll see what the quality is like. Huge f/stop difference though- so more like a competitor to the 100-400

don't fancy a fisheye really...the 70-300 is very close to my Nikkor 70-300 4.5-5.6 VR which really offers grand quality for the money (app. US$ 580)

8mm on a FF camera is a full 180* view. Interesting that they made it. They just wanted to put a red L ring around a lens that goes against all the others like the Sigma/Tamron/etc 12-24 range lenses...

US$ 1780.- for a fisheye might keep many doors shut...I mean, people are more careful in spending money these days ~~

Oh the lower end models from the other brands won't be affected really I don't think- but this lens WILL sell to all the pro extreme sport shooters.

I think it will also do well with Landscape/Architectural photographers.

it will make very special landscapes but certainly will not work on professional architecture photography as you need to show geometrical realistic proportions and views of the object...angles as well horizontal and vertical lines have to be accurate

..and NO there is no way to straighten fisheye or wideangle lines without an unacceptable loss of quality
