    Exclamation Trouble with a platformer

Hello. I'm having an issue with a platformer game. I'm doing the chapter 9 tutorial from the book Foundation Game Design with Flash by Rex Van Der Spuy. What's happening is the platform instances I drag to the stage aren't working correctly. The player will stand on air and fall through some of the platforms. I've messed with the axis and a few other things but it seems no matter what I do there are always platforms that don't work right. Any help? Thank you so much.

dre38w, please know that there are loads of people who might not be familiar with the book or source files you are using, and we are definitely not psychics so we can't help you unless you show us exactly what you are doing. Upload your fla to some filehost like mediafire and post the link here, or atleast post your code.

By the way, if I am not wrong, your problem is most probably the "origin" of your movieclips. Make sure they are on the top-left of your movieclips, unless specified in the book.In case you don't know, the "origin" or the "registration point" of a movieclip is what defines it's starting coordinates, and obviously affects your calculations. The following image shows you the "registration point", in the new symbol dialogue.

I apologize for that. Here's the entire file. Code and FLA. I'm using CS5 by the way. And also I tried the registration point thing and that kind of made it worse. So here's the file.
