anyone else hear that?
Wow...blast from the past here. I got out of college in '96 with a major in creative writing and a minor in philosophy...ready to wait tables forever.
I ended up landing a job via nepotism at my dad's company doing e-learning, which I never had an interest in, but it paid the bills...and then I found flash. It was so much different than the coding world of HTML and easier to use than Director or Authorware (dinosaurs now). When I needed help, inspiration or just someone to chat with, I came to FK.
Learned SO much from FK, went through many jobs (after getting laid off by my dad...lol) and am still doing flash full-time AND doing sideline jobs as well.
Married, 2 kids, divorced, all is well. As often as I can, I try to help out newbies to pay back all the help I've gotten here. I also spend lots of time STILL asking questions and am now making the painful transition to AS3 and turning myself more into a coder than I ever wanted.
A bit bittersweet seeing all the buzz about html5/css3 and the "demise" of flash, but, it's all good, the electronic world will keep changing and there will always be work for those willing to change with it.
Thanks for everything FK and ALL the people who have helped me throughout the years!
Love like you've never been hurt, live like there's no tomorrow and dance like nobody's watching.
