Mini Map

Hi, using this thread i'm planning to learn to make a simple mini map & as I go along it will be very sophisticated with a php map editor hopefully to soon implement in my main game.

Does anyone know how I can start off as just showing a plain minimap that can update my character movements. If you can start me off it will be appreciated. Original home made stuff is prefered rather than linking me

Hi, thanks for the link I don't think that would really help me though I wanted to start off on just a simple updating map that can show character as a dot. Thanks
