Hi guys!
I dont post too much on this forum becouse I think my english sucks... I read posts every day and usually someone help newbies. I decided to find hidden powers of Swish 1.5 and founded number of tricks. My tutorails are almost ready but it takes me hours to spell check so maybe I better post my solutions best I can. If you dont understand please ask questions I will try my best...
Applaying actions for moving objects.
Normaly it is not possible but... You can make it look like.
My way to work with Swish is to use ilusion if something is not possible.
trick #1
you can always use hidden objects - that means objects with Alpha 100% transparent. For example use graphic font "g"(Webdings-font)and add Transform and in [Start At]tab use option 100% transparent. Now you can applay actions to this object and put it in any place you need. You can cover all screan with this "g" -webding font and you have all screan active
trick #2
If you need applay action to moving object you can use 100%transparent "g" webding font following your main object.
"g"-webding font must be moving with Transform action and stop and again moving and stop ...
example(Object g webding font): Transform[Start At 100% transparent] [Move Right by 1], Stop , Transform [Move Right by 1], Stop, Transform [Move Right by 1] , Stop, Transform [Move Right by 1]
--- this way hidden "g"-font is moving and you can check that you can click on it any time you want.
If you have for example jpg picture moving right 100 pixels you dont need that accurate hidden font followin it, just make webding-font 50% size of jpg picture and make it moving by 10 pixels.
You need test moving rate to synchronize your main object and hidden webding-font
PS
If my explanation is too hard to understand please someone who understand this translate it form Enlish to English :-) , but give me credit :-)
If you need your picture come back to same position after some action you used just use action [go to frame #X ] X is frame number where you left your moving object
I will post other tricks soon.

So in summary .. if you want some action, you've got to use the "g" spot

Sounds like it would work, though I could see how it could be a lot of work in some cases -- thanks for the tip!

Actually I think your English is every bit as good as some of the brits and aussies, lol. Certainly much better than my knowledge of your primary language. Good solid tip by the way, I had not thought about the transform idea but see no reason it would not work.

are you by any chance taking a dig at the 43fl.oz beershooterer swallower oioierers?

Well it works...its critical to get the timeline right but it works well... Thanks Arkpol for taking the trouble.

Good point Roger . G spot is always a key :-)
If you will keep swish 2.0 from us so long , we will find how to copy Swish 2.0 actions including snake effect in swish 1.5 he he
I am glad someone could understand this.
I was experimenting with moving my picture by 1 or 2 pixels and then stop action. It takes much less time when you use option: copy action and paste action.

Arkpol,
sorry i'm a little lost,
Not your fault, OK "g" webding transparent 100%
following the Jpeg, ok the jpeg is moving but what is the g doing for it?
Thanks

If I understand it right, he has the G moving 10 clicks at a time with a transition. Sort of leap frogging the .jpg so that while the .jpg moves you have the g coming to a stop then moving then coming to a stop in the line of travel.

Hi
Dion, g-webding font is just an example you can use anything you want. Because you cant apply action to regular moving object I found that if you move object with stop (move, stop, move ,stop,move...)it works. I am using hidden font (as click area) because when you apply this kind of movement to your picture it doesn't look good (movement is not smooth).

PS
Ask Jofta he tested this and said it works... I can't explain it better becouse my english...

So in other words the webding or what ever is pulling the picture and the picture presents the movement of the font?

More like the webding follows the .jpg Dion. Your .jpg is crossing the screen steadily at say 5 pixels per frame. Your webding is jumping the steadily moving .jpg at maybe 20 pixels per frame and your setting your webding to cover at least half of the .jpg at any one time. So the webding goes to several places on the screen first behind then in front of the steady moving .jpg. That way it can come to a stop so that action can be placed on it. It jumps the .jpg and stops, the .jpg moves into, thru and past the webding. Then the webding jumps ahead of the .jpg and it starts all over. Hope that clarifies. Easier to do than to explain.

Not Click for some reason I'll try later, I'm in the middle of cooking for 40, maybe that's why i can click.
Thanks
D
Doug go to your post, I'm lost there too for some reason, the menu?
-
what you could do
Or you could use a "-" or something and scale it/rotate it along the path of your object, so the entire path is clickable, and then use show/hide. this would only work in some places though, because the click object would cover up other clicky places.
Beware

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE USER
This thread is very interesting to me...because it stretches the way we look at solving problems using imagination to generate the "trickery" & "illusions".
However.. what so often happens at the end of "finding a way to do the trick" is the realy hard part.
Finding a damm good reason to use it!
With a major objective of web design being impressive user friendliness asking someone to hit a moving object and get what they think they are looking for might be a lot harder than presenting em with a still object to get the same answer.
I built a mouse over text scroller with the arrows up and arrows down etc etc. and it struck me that the slider was just so much extra crap. Deleted the whole thing and now simply mouse over the text like running your finger down a page..
Well its got me thinking and I would be interested in any other comments on this..( I must be in one of my KISS phases..Keep it Simple Stupid)
