If anyone is intrested I (the originator of
this thread) have found a solution.
You can go and get Total Recorder (Win 32)

it is shareware :-( but it works gr8 :-)
The audio stays digital.
If you are recording a sound loop, you will
need to trim it with some audio editing
software.
