Mad Sci, you were once curious about Virtools Dev2 (http://www.virtools.com) Well take a look at what I was able to put together in only a few hours (that includes the time required to model and animate the character and objects in 3DS Max )
http://www.poptronik.com/dev/ You need a joystick, also hit 1 key to activate the follow cam. Without a joystick, use the numpad to move the character. |

Ray Beez, is it possible to download a demo version of virtools anywhere? I had a look at their website and the software looks very impressive.

Since we already had Dev 1, the upgrade was only $1000!
The product may seem expensive, but considering what licensing 3D engines usually costs, it's cheap. And you don't have to have a dedicated C++ programmer... just someone who understands logic and programming CONCEPTS (or game design concepts really...) oh, and a 3D package. I used 3DS max. I posted some new demos today. Keep in mind how FAST all this was to put together. It is truly easier than Flash! More demos tomorrow (particle systems!) RB |
