help needed for puzzle's timer and highscores

OK, my problems could be easily solved, but I am just a graphic designer and I promised to create this standalone puzzle with highscore system. I modified some puzzles and timers I found and combined them with the highscore system by Nummer2 (http://www.were-here.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=77956) but I just can't get them workin together.

The main problem is stopping the countdown timer.
Second problem is sending the time to highscore table (I know these things should be easy but I really am not a specialist).
I also seem to have problems with the highscore system itself.

I will be very grateful if someone can help me with these simple problems.
