Add White Backdrop/Background to Webcam Video??
Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Here's my problem:
I've created a webcam video of myself and I have converted/encoded it into FLV Format for streaming. If you go to the Macromedia website all of the Flash Videos have a completely white background behind the person who is talking so it almost looks as if the person is recording a video in a studio but from what I understand this "White Backdrop" studio effect is being simulated using code. At this point, my webcam video looks a little cheesy to post on my site for streaming since you can see everything behind me and I want to make it look more professional by simulating a white backdrop/background right behind me. There are ways you can do this but are expensive but since I've heard it can be done using perhaps flash mx/actionscript I would really be interested in learning how or if anyone has some code that can allow me to do this. I'm by no means a Flash Expert so if anyone knows how to create this simulated white backdrop behind the person in the webcam video I would appreciate it very much. Or..if you have some snippet of code that can be incorporated that would be great as well.
Thanks,
Will

I don't believe it can be done using ActionScript, if you look at the video forum here I think they shoot on a blue/green screen and then knock out the background and then either insert a white background or export transparent PNGs.
