1.Probably because the original version of Flash 8 is in English they are charging extra for the translation into......hey, wait a minute!
2.Maybe your version comes packed with a solid gold CD. 3.Maybe they are charging by the mile for shipping, due to fuel costs. 4.Maybe they watch all those shows on PBS and think the British are all rich dudes who live on big country estates. 5.Maybe they got the exchange rate backward. |

I'm sorry; what doesn't match? The UK price is more expensive than the US price... as usual. If you choose the US price, you better be able to pick it up accross the pond, because they are probably too smart to ship it to the UK with the US price

And since the country of origin is the US, they have to pay for things like shipping, customs, and of course... your precious VAT. You forget though... we don't have a VAT that's as high as yours. 30% or higher, right?
In the States, the highest (and closest semblance to VAT would be state tax) is 8-9% or so. It's not a straight conversion due to those reasons above. Want it bad enough, come to the states... if you can find a plane ticket cheap enough. Fly on Sept. 11th... I flew for 210.00 USD overseas once. |

maybe I'm missing something here, but doesn't the price mis-match apply even if you choose to download the upgrade direct to your PC? if so, what does "shipping, customs" have to do with it? and VAT here is 17.5 % last time I looked.

Thanks... I remember the VAT being at least double the applicable taxes in the states. Software, even downloadable, IIRC is susceptible to export law(s) too.

Even worse.
I was thinking of getting my own copy. The boss doesn't think it's worth the upgrade. Full version US price - $999 converts to £541.69 Full version uk - £821.33(incVAT) - converts to $1,514.51 Guess I'll be mx04ing at work and sleeping at home. Ho Hum!
