[Pimp] Simple Fishy Game

I created this game a while ago, and thought that I would possibly work on the gameplay some more, but I haven't. I'm not really sure where to go, or if I should just drop it. The game can be found here: http://tlgames.siteburg.com/fishy.htm.

If you have any ideas on how I can add gameplay or things I need to fix in the game, please post.

I'd like to see the fish changed into a mouse-follower. Or at least add some friction to it's speed.
You could make the enemy-movement more diverse. (and maybe slower, this looks a bit unnatural)

Other than that it looks great and it could be a very addictive game.
(Allthough it's just as creative nowadays to make a fishgame like this as making pong or breakout back in the days.)

Yeah that would look good...

Also the graphics are nice but the movement feels not very physical. If you could add momentum and mass to the fishy making it float down a bit and make it move a bit like a spaceship.. it would just match better with the graphics having slightly physical movement.

Instead of just adding an ass load of fishes as time goes by, you could add in some AI.

I agree - making the movement via the mouse would make it better. Also the AI could be improved plus with fewer enemies. From here you could make several levels with an increasing amount of enemies.

Good game - addictive!

Thanks for all of your feedback. The general consensus seems to be that I need to
1. Change Movement to the mouse
2. Animate Fish
3. Increased AI
4. Powerups? (bubbles)

I'm kind of in favor of keeping the movement controlled by the arrow keys, but just adding a little momentum. Anyone give me the pro's and con's to that?

Yup, do all those things... mouse or keyboard controlled, doesn't really matter.

Did you ever play Super Mario 3? Where he was under water and would fall to the ground if you didn't keep pushing the jump button... well it would be nice if you could do something similar with this game... keep pushing up to keep the fish afloat... that could also tie in nicely with some animation

Meh, it is OK. Yes, I would agree on power ups, but AI is not needed. MAYBE if you wanted to add AI, like when you get to increments of 1000 points, create a fisherman, who tries to catch you on his hook for another 100 points. His posistion would be based on yours, and so would his line and hook. Power ups would be nice, along with lives instead of just points.

Also, it looks as if your high scores page has been tampered with. 2147483647 points eh?
