Nyc
I went to NYC this past weekend with my girlfriend for a mini vacation (Thursday thru Sunday). It was a great time
 Our main purpose was to see a live taping of the Daily Show with John Stewart and decided to stay a few extra days. For the majority of the time we were there, we walked around NYC and just enjoyed the good weather. We stayed at a BRAND NEW hotel right at Rockefeller Center. I think we were the first people to ever stay in the room as they had just opened last week. I tried Brazilian food for the first time and i have to say i was very suprised and happy by how good it was. I think the restaurant was called Brazil Grill and not too far from Times Square. Seeing i had a few months to plan (since Valentine's Day) ...i decided this was the place to 'pop' the question. I did it at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park and it couldn't have been a better day for it. It was 80 degrees, sunny with a lot of people around. And right before i asked her a saxaphonist and cellist both started playing. It couldn't have been better. Anyhoo, here's some photos from the trip... That's wonderful!The lake seems so much quieter back in January. My dad and I must have sat on the same seats!

 Congrats! I was watching the Daily Show the other day and was wondering when this was supposed to happen. I knew it was supposed to be soon, but never got around to revisiting the thread.

I was very impressed wiht John Stewart though. The entire show was taped in one take. No editing, no re-do's the whole show is taped in 30 minutes exactly with the commercial breaks in the same exact spots. Plus the set was completely different than what you'd expect from seeing it on TV. It's hard to explain, but to be honest, TV magic is pretty damned cool. |
