:) Recruiting members for ICU Games to work on our new game "ATTICA".

Hey guys just announcing ICU Games' new game "ATTICA", please feel free to visit our site and discuss the game in our forums. This is the first game we are developing and need more members. Right now we need background artists; animators for characters, cutscenes and in game cutscenes we also need music composers and sound FX guys, we also need some programmers, character designers and dialogue/script/puzzle writers/designers. I am a story writer and programmer. I have written the main plot and main characters for the game and will continue to improve it. We are using the Wintermute Engine for our point and click adventure, for more info on that engine please visit www.dead-code.org. Dudes this game is intended to be free so no one on the team will be paid including me, although it will look good on your portfolio, but if a publisher wants to publish it then the money will be split down the middle. Please, anyone, we need members to decrease dev time and bring it out ASAP. If interested then please visit http://icu-games.tk, here you can find all our details and information about the game along with concept art and finished art. Please visit our forums and post under the recruitment thread if you would like to join.

Ok so now with a bit of the story.

Intro:

"Long ago, no one knows the exact date, but some assume it was long before even the great Hercules existed that an even greater warrior was making a name for himself. One day a boy was born who had a remarkable defect that everyone was horrified about, not knowing that one day this defect would decide the outcome of one the most historical battles in the history of Greece. The battle between Sparta and Athens, the two most powerful forces in Greece, but first lets start from the begining. It all began in the city of Sparta......"

Plot:

Sylim Hysilese a boy born in Sparta is left on the cliff for the wolves to eat by his parents on the day he is born due to a mysterious defect that he has. Luckely he is founded by an Athenian soldier who rescues him and takes him away to Athens where he is raised by two loving people who he believes are he's real parents until one day a village on the outskitrts of Athens is raided by a small Sparten unit led by the most infamous general, General Sipcellus. The unit detroyed the village and all the inhabitants except for two boys, Sylim and Victor his best friend. They managed to hide in a hut until the Spartans left but had to react quick before the hut burnt down. When finally out Sylim see's his so called mother who tells him about his past, Sylim is devistated and dedicates his life to joining the army to avenge his parents and his village along with searching for his real parents. Along the way he and victor will encounter countless obtacles along with facing Greece's Ancient mythical creatures which include Madusa, The Minator, Cyclopes and more. Sylim must discover the reason for his defect, avenge his family and friends and find out who his real parents are and along the way meet lovable characters who help him on his journey.
"May the GODS be on your side".

there is hardly any media on your site,- do you have already character animations or sprite animations? No GUI so far and only 2 backgrounds so far.
It seems that you guys havenŽt gotten yet so far (visual wise)

I guess it would help even more if you guys would provide a demo of what you already build (engine, scripts, logic,...).

btw. the smile of the character in your post resembles pretty much the one of guybrush

Hi mate, Myles here, like I said me and the sound guy are all that is left of the team because our graphics dudes left so that why we are recruiting.
We probably would of had a demo if they didn't leave but you know they had there reasons. When I get more members the game will go full steam ahead. Thanks for your question.

Then create some placeholders in paint.exe and create a tech demo. Right now its really hard to imagine what you are aiming for- I do not even know if you have guys in your team that are capeable on the other fronts (code, sound, animation,...)

They said that they weren't to the whole game design thing and preffered ANIME. I think they would like to work on cartoons like DBZ and stuff you know.

That isnt actually the point.
You insert placeholder graphics so we can see how well the game is programmed. Then if someone sees the games potential they will do the artwork for you.

Ok cool, well I'm using the Wintermute Engine not flash and I understood what the placeholders where, thanks anyway though. I just thought it would be easier getting 1 bg and 1 char designer and 1 animator then do a demo then get more pple to join if they liked it but it seems that no one wants to. Anyway take care.

excuse me but get serious!
you actually have NOTHING to show- you say that the graphic artist left the team and what they did so far seems not to be not enough even for a demo. So your only trump card so far is the plot. This is way not enough for me getting convinced.

IŽd really like to do character designs for a serious project but not a vapor one. So please show somekind of technical demo so that we can atleast get an idea of look & feel, gameplay, interface, technical limitations,... of what you already have.

render no need to work yourself up, my BG artist had all the rooms for the demo done but I didn't get the chance to upload them onto our site, and he took them with him, I can't ask for them cause I don't know where he is and for my char artist and animator well he did the same except i was able to upload his concept art and main char but the rest he finished and animated are with him and again I don't know where he is. I am really sorry if you are offended and don't believe but I'm afraid it's the truth and I am not begging you to do it I just wanted some help, but it's cool I'll do it myself.

These aren't really my type of games, and I'm not really a game artist, but I wish you luck!

hmmmm... the engine looks workable... man looks like the only things you need is artists and music\soundeffects people then somebody to put it all together with the wintermute gismos... you don't need actionscript programmers I believe.
