I don't understand, if that was the first one sold, how come gerbick has two discs and my Windows-geek-head friends have already got their discs?

Beta's don't cost full retail price.
This is just a reaming.

I was there at the launch of it at 12AM at the first store to launch it here. Famous rugby player Dan Carter was the first person to buy a copy in the entire world. Was fun being there since I was one of "Microsoft's Chief Guests" - the attention you get from the booth babes for being that is awesome.

Saw some on CNN.
People were actually standing in line at midnight... for an OS? What, did they think WoW was going to be more fun or the internet would stop sucking as soon as they got home? Even the CNN bimbo recommended against early adoption.
"Hmm, my too expensive hardware isn't being utilized enough, I know, I'll wax whats left with the core of everything I do."
I think something bad happened as soon as there were more computers in bedrooms than in the office.

Haha, Bill Gate has a strange voice. I only just realised that I've never heard it properly (always just read transcripts etc)

These are the retail box copies. My Vista Business came in a bluish folder. The other Vista was in a MSDN sleeve. None of that fancy plastic box crap for me.

John Stewart got a copy for free.

I loved how Bill Gates just walked right off at the end and didn't even stay to chat.

I don't think he really knows the whole deal there.
Or maybe he had to go save the world.
