    Hello...

Quick question for anyone to ponder....

I have a client that wants to take a simple Flash intro I did him and make it 'playable' on a DVD/VCD player. The client will have a DVD player/TV set up at a conference, and want's the intro to loop for however long....

Is there a simple way to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks much,

    seanpc

Hi ! Export your movie to AVI format and convert it to MPEG VCD-compliant format. Then use a CD-burning software such as NERO to burn it to VCD.

    Hope this helps.

Geneinebox, thank you for your posting,

    I use TmpgEnc (VCD-Template) or Xing-Encoder (VCD-Template) to make VCD-compliant MPG's out of AVI's produced in Swish 2.

The MPG files are very choppy as compared to my avi's.

I have used "Full frame" as well as "Cinepack by Radius Compression" to export to avi within Swish-2 but both result in choppy mpg's.

    Any idea ?

    Hi there !

Based on my experience with Flash and video export, your settings should be fine. VCD-compliant Mpgs are rather 'blocky' on your PC monitor, but they look really sharp on TV. Try it and let me know

    Hi, Geneinabox,

Thank you very much for your lightning-fast reply which is highly appreciated. I will burn a VCD on the basis of my vcd-compliant-mpegs's tonight and then try it on my DVD-player.

Sure, I will post my findings right here in this thread. Stay tuned.....

    Thanks again!

    Hi, Geneinabox, again,

    As promised, my results:

Titles produced in Swish-2 and exported as avi (compressed with cinepac by radius codecs) and encoded to mpg with tmpgenc (vcd template) and burned on vcd with roxio ecdc 5.0 play on my dvd-player without loosing any quality.

If the background is not an uniform "black" but a "jpg" picture, the text of the title is getting blocky. This I have experienced with all video-editing software as well (adobe, ulead and mgi).

Thus, refrain from background pictures in a lossy format and only use an uniform background color ?
