Help with dynamic text setting

Can someone tell me how to make this wirk in the Flash 4 player?

When I click on the 1705 text it changes the DATE to 1705. This works fine in the browser view under the newest browser player...

however... it does not work in ver 4 player....

can this be made to work in v4?

The action script for the most part only works in Flash 5 and 6 players.

Yes,
Flash 4 does not use the dot notation (_parent.txt1) I think.

As far as I remember, KoolMoves did use the Flash 4 syntax in the early days ( ver 2.6 I think, like /:txt1).

I just tried this in 3.2 and KM actually froze on me!

The only Flash 4 supported is get and set property I think.

ok... if I insert a swf into a webpage and a viewer has the v4 plugin/player...what is the best way to force/prompt and upgrade?

Ive read various techniques and was wondering what everyone else uses - the KM generate code?
