Audrey Mestre (The wife of Pipin) R.I.P.

It is with the deepest regret that the IAFD reports the passing of Audrey Mestre. On October 12th in an attempt to set official World Record in the No Limits category, she suffer a serious accident that she did not survive._
    _
Earlier this week on Wednesday, October 9th Audrey Mestre successfully completed the same dive. At this time, the IAFD is gathering information to investigate what went wrong._
    _
At this time we ask that, please hold telephone calls to the IAFD and staff until further notice._
    _
We at the IAFD are deeply sadened by this accident._
    _
    Sincerely, IAFD
    Me too.

Here's a message from the IAFD forum that just speaks out of my heart:
Hi, I've read messages on this forum for a while but I never have posted a message because I find myself a little out of place among all the advanced free divers. Now I feel as if I have to post, as if it would be the only way I can express myself. I feel extremely sorry about what just happen. Pipin, de la verda que lo siento mi hermano. She was so noble and peaceful even though she is the world champion. There might be some woman getting involved in the sport, but none will ever replace Audrey place. Before, now, and then Audrey will always be the one and only true ocean woman. I feel as if this has been a huge lost. Not just for her friends or family, but for every free diver and enthusiast of the sport.
    RIP Audrey Mestre!
Damn! The world is not fair!

    Some facts:
AUDREY MESTRE DIES DURING FREE-DIVING RECORD ATTEMPT
Audrey Mestre, one of a handful of world record breaking free-divers, died on Saturday 12 October in the Dominican Republic while attempting a 561 ft (171m) breath hold dive.
Mestre was attempting to beat the 160m No Limits world record set by Tanya Streeter earlier this year in Turks and Caicos. She reached her target depth, but was pulled from the sled by her support team of scuba divers and brought back to the surface. Her rescuers attempted to give her gas to breathe during the ascent. She was underwater for 9 minutes 44seconds, and was pronounced dead from drowning by the medics who attempted to resuscitate her, shortly after being brought to the surface.
28-year-old Mestre was one of the brightest stars of the free-diving scene and was married to free-diver 'Pippin' Ferreras. Pippin was among the spectators while the tragic events unfolded.
Speculation is rife that the sled had developed a technical fault which interrupted her ascent. The International Association of Free Divers (IAFD) who were responsible for overseeing the dive issued a statement saying that they believed that something had hit the sled.
