Why can't I see my text.

    Hi guys and gals,
I've created a straightforward movie in Flash 8 and previewed this. All seems fine.
When I try to view this either from a remote web-server or as localhost the text that fades in and out doesn't appear but the picures show up fine.

    Any ideas on this one...
First time of using flash in a wee while so this could be obvious.

Same thing use to happen to me whenever I made a web-page, text wouldnt pop up , or some buttons were not visable or who knows what. Well it seems that Flash 8 requires a ActiveAX download to play,,, it should ask you to download it whenever you open it. My suggestion is, whenever you export it,,, be careful with ur settings double check them,,,

Your textfield is most likely dynamic. So either make it static or embed the font.

To embed the font select the textfield on stage and open the properties panel. Click the "Embed..." button and in the panel that opens select which characters of the font to embed.

Also make sure you aren't using "device fonts".

And finally make sure you've got the correct player. It should be player 8 if you haven't changed it under the publish settings.

    Thanks for the posts guys...
Mirandir - checked about the player and went into the publish settings and changed from flash 8 to flash 7 as version on the flash tab and hey presto...
