Genesis of creative reflexes..
There are heck a lot of changes between these versions.
As a designer, i think the cool changes are the support for video and the highquality video codec available as ' On2 VP6 '. This allows unbelievable quality video encoding, thereby making it a irresistable tool for video freaks. There are a lot more support for designers, like the availability of filters similar to photoshop(though not to that extend), a very cool interface, comingback of the normal and expert mode that was missing in mx 2004 in the form of script assist.
But i strongly believe this new release of flash has a lot for developers. Flash8 uses AS 2.5. As a designer i cant give u much about the developing part of it...find it out from the makers itself....(Search it out from the macromedia site)

Cheers

movieclip != MovieClip

1. There are a lot of new classes to create stunning photoshop effects.
2. Uploading and downloading can be done with flash only.
3. This is not often mentioned but Flash 8 is very close in its structure to the upcoming ActionScript 3. In ActionScript 3 every object is a class and has to be imported. This is now the case with the new classes in Flash 8. If you want a tween, import the classes first.

Yes we can
i guess he meant that the language is case sensitive now.
Another great addition is bitmapData. Basically you can create and manipulate bitmaps via code in runtime now,so you can do things like read and set the value of pixels,or have lots of scrolling objects without much performance loss (as you can draw them into a single bitmap rather than scrolling tons of movieclips around).
Regarding performance there are several minor and major additions,one of those is that you can set cacheAsBitmap on for elements so that vector shapes are cached as Bitmaps and therefore can be moved around at better performance.
There are also great additions to text rendering leading to much crisper text display.
One could go on for (p)ages but yeah,flash8 is just the best flash release in ages imho and has lots of new and great stuff

Easy uploading of video
It was very easy to upload an .avi video clip and the quality was outstanding.
I bought the book Flash Professional 8, Training from the Source and within an hour had a one minute video clip on the web.
