Opinions needed...

Ok, I've been designing a site for a gaming clan and everything is coming into place.

There is one feature I'm in the works of creating but I was looking for some thoughts on how other's might present it.

Here is the site so far. http://www.nssclan.org

Here is what I'm looking for opinions on.

There is a folder on the bottom right of the site. If you click on that folder, the folder moves to the center (just like the clan rules paper) now when the folder is up in the middle I'm trying to figure out whether I should put buttons on the folder (to list the clan members) when the user clicks on the buttons, the folder opens to list a profile on that player.

The problem I see with doing it this way is that it doesn't make it easy for updates. I'd have to design frames for each of the members and thus make it a pretty large file.

Any thoughts on a better way to present this information with some type of dynamic method?

list for me the kind of data fields you will be displaying, you mention name and profile, anything else?
I assume you want it self managing, a bit like the personal detail section of this site.

Sorry about the slow reply, I've been away from my computer.

As for the data fields....Hmm, I'm wondering if I can pull the data fields from the game's actual website?

I suppose it would be fields such as:

Player's Gamename, about player, preferred weapon, preferred map, kills, deaths, headshots, an avatar or banner, member since, medals & awards.

The medals and awards will be graphical.

Yeah, not all of the buttons work yet because I didn't put the content up yet.

I have noticed that on high contrast monitors that it may appear dark. I've found that it can be remedied by the tilt of the monitor.

There is a lot of information there that you want to display, I guess it depends on the volume and frequency of updates that will dictate how dynamic the system needs to be, and how much time you as administrator have for such updates. I would take a look over in Chris's xml forum for database connections, also there are loads of great php/mysql solutions that would fit the bill. There are some database snipets in Koolexchange that will point you.
A Loadvars solution to feed you the information from an enqiry page would give you the data you need. As a final solution, you could look at a rework of Necro's guest book, amend the gui to suit and the php to include additional fields.

I have been wanting to learn how to read and write to mySql with KM.
I guess I've been a little...weary about this part, but BOY if I could get this part down I'd be - THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ - just kidding.

The game itself actually has a stats tracker but I have to log in with my username, then go to a specific area, click on a username then finally get to the stats of a player.

I'm sure that is beyond my skill level for now.
