Hi,

I have been creating a flash projector for use on both MAC and PCs that can update the text and images from a list of variables and files placed on a webserver

eg.

Frame1.

sourceURL = "http://www.thewebserver.com/presentation/
loadVariablesNum (eval("sourceURL") add ("property.txt"), 0);
loadVariables (eval("sourceURL") add ("property.txt"), "textMC");
trace (eval("sourceURL") add ("property.txt"));
fscommand ("fullscreen", "true");

Frame 4.

if (eval ("allvariablesfromtxt") eq "loaded") {
loadMovie (eval("sourceURL") add eval("image"), "imageMC");
setProperty ("imageMC", _x, "544");
setProperty ("imageMC", _y, "47");
setProperty ("imageMC", _xscale, "100");
setProperty ("imageMC", _yscale, "100");
play ();
} else {
gotoAndPlay (2);
}

The txt file on the server;

client=blah&

&heading=Property&

&bodycopy=this is the body copy blah blah blah&

&image=heathrow.swf&

&allvariablesfromtxt=loaded

This of course works fine on a PC no probs what so ever. However on a MAC
it only works as a .swf file, and not as a self contained projector file.

Is this a bug with the Flash Projector on a MAC?
Does it possess no ability to load variables from a webserver?

Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Thanks,

I guess its some consolation that its a known bug and not my coding. Ahhh the joys of MACs, life wasn't meant to be easy right?

I am going to have a go at a work around using Flash in Director. Don't except much to happen but if it works I will post it up.

Thanks again,
