hope this works. if not, any help is always appreciated.

PS... don't laugh... it's my first try at doing up an anime character in Flash :-) and, of course I had to use Mai Shiranui... one of my fav video game characters. I drew her straight in Flash. I think next time I might try creating the character in Illustrator first, then port them over to Flash.

ok... that didn't work at all... :-(

08-10-2000, 03:42 PM
let's try this again...

08-10-2000, 03:49 PM

08-10-2000, 04:02 PM

thanks for the advice! I went ahead and sped it up a little (took out some frames on the tweens). gonna have to work on animating the clothes and I'd like to animate the eyes and hair as well... it was a rush job (cuz I saw everyone else's footers and I wanted one too!!! hehe) I'll have to start working on animating those later... shouldn't be playing while I'm at work! :-)

one suggestion i know you probably ddonta wanna fix. her breasts are WAY too big. i mean. u wanna keep it natrual. of course you cant go back and change her tits now. well you could but too much time.

08-10-2000, 07:16 PM
hey, remember, it is Mai Shiranui... :-) if you know the character, the breast size fits well ;-)

and 'sides... my wife says it isn't my style of artwork unless the females are scantily dressed and rather well endowed! :-)

Is that flash or a bitmap? It looks very good, but is running really slow. If its a bitmap that may explain the jerkyness. If its in flash then Im not sure what to say :)

08-10-2000, 09:16 PM
it is Flash, not a bitmap. I don't understand why it's running so slowly neither. I've got it set for 30fps. She is a rather large symbol, though... I had to draw her pretty large, then resized her to fit the .swf size. hmm... I might try playing with to see what I can figure out.

i think you should try to optimize the shapes.
there is a tool in flash to do that, unfortunatly, i know the french name, not the english one, hey others crwe members, help me to explain =)

08-10-2000, 11:33 PM
ahhh er ummmm. go to modify and optimize.

You may also want to smooth your curves (no tasteless jokes, fellas) - that may remove some extraneous points.

08-11-2000, 12:58 PM
lol. hehheheheh.

08-11-2000, 01:05 PM
thank you for the suggestions, friends. I'll see what I can do to make it run smoother... and I'll play with her curves :-)

Hey that seems to be running better for me now... Maybe there are just fewer instances of it on this page saving the processor... But if you did anything it seems to have worked!!
