This might help, but it might not:

Open the Apple Extras folder on your hard drive.
open the Applescript folder, then open the Script Editor.
hit the Record button.
now find the cache folder, (i'm not sure where that is exactly as i use NS4.7, but it might be in the prefrences folder)
Open the folder and select all.(make sure there isn't anything there you don't want to lose) and hit Command+Delete and click Special-->Empty Trash.
Go back to the script editor and click Stop.
Save as Classic Applet.
Now, if you have a newer mac(9.0 or better) you can assign a function key to perform the task(For some reason i don't have that particular option on the older mac i have at home, but i do at work but they are both on 9.0), or you could drop the new script into the Apple Menu Items folder so you can get at it quickly.
Hope this helps.(you can also make it a Speakable Item if you like)

whew.... That seemed less complicated before i typed it all out. here it is my very 2nd post and i'm runnin' off at the mouth.

Sure thing:)

I used that to create a Speakable item that will hide all important files and shutdown my mac with a single word. (Just in case i ever decide to walk out of the office in a huff.)

Also, if you're having trouble with pages not showing the changes, you can choose Preferences, Web Browser - Advanced, and choose Update Pages - always

yeah, I've got that option checked..
- I've been having a fair bit of trouble with the IE cache lately...
things like uploading a new .swf, quiting IE, re-opening IE, clearing the cache, checking the new .swf, and there it is - the old one just sitting there smiling at me!
hmmm... confusion...
