hi!
I am in the process of creating a catalogue for my cd and record collection.

In my flash movie I have two buttons. The first one is meant to bringup a list of my cds, the other, my records.

I have two xml files: cd.xml and vinyl.xml.

My cd.xml, for instance looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<CATALOG>
<CD>
<TITLE>Selection Sixteen</TITLE>
<ARTIST>Squarepusher</ARTIST>
<LABEL>Warp</LABEL>
<RELEASEMONTH>Feb.</RELEASEMONTH>
<YEAR>1998</YEAR>
</CD>
</CATALOG>

This is repeated over and over.

I am now trying to create a field in which all the cds will be horizontally displayed as well as four buttons that sort the entries alphabetically.

I don't know how to do this. I have tried out some ideas but it seems I am far off.

I would like to know how to give each of the buttons the ability to sort and display the documents.

I am also looking for a good way to sort the cds by their release dates.

Please help or direct me to somewhere with an example or tutorial fitting my problem.

Thank you :)

Martin

Put a space after each of your brackets... like this:

< space >
< more space / >
< / space >

Then we can see your XML...

As for sorting your data... you might want to store it all in arrays, and just sort the arrays...

EDIT BY CHRIS: The original poster was looking for help with his exisiting code. While your intention may have been good, there was no need to link to a commercial product since it had nothing to do with this users question. Please refrain from posting commercial content if it is not warranted. Thanks in advance.
