LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP

&nbsp;
<ul>
Read the previous messages to see if your question has been asked (and
answered before). This will save you a lot of time.

Read the tutorials on Flashkit, there are a growing number which cover
many areas and you might pick up a few more ideas while you are there!

Read a Flash development book, I find that these are an excellent port of
call, usually I don't have to go much further!</li>

&nbsp;</p>

<a name="descriptive"></a>

USE DESCRIPTIVE SUBJECT TITLES

&nbsp;
<ul>
&quot;Need Help&quot; - BAD <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/frown.gif" width="15" height="15">

&quot;Loading movie problem&quot; - GOOD <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/smile.gif" width="15" height="15">

&quot;URGENT!!!&quot; - BAD <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/frown.gif" width="15" height="15">

&quot;help with buttons please&quot; - GOOD <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/smile.gif" width="15" height="15">

&quot;Mark rocks my world&quot; - SILLY <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/wink.gif" width="15" height="15">

&quot;Dan the Gateway he-cow rules!!&quot; - GOING TOO FAR <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" width="15" height="15">.
(See the chat section)</li>
&nbsp;</p>

<a href="#top">top</a>

<a name="polite"></a>

BE POLITE

Don't demand in your subject titles. &quot;ASAP&quot;, &quot;URGENT&quot;,
&quot;PROBLEM&quot;, &quot;HELP&quot; won't get you help any faster. People like
to be asked not ordered. If you need an answer YESTERDAY!, first check the
Macromedia Techsupport site (http://www.macromedia/support/flash/).

</p>

<a name="private"></a>

DON’T REQUEST PRIVATE REPLIES

The forum benefits everybody, you may get your answer but others will miss
out on the information. Not everyone with a problem posts, many read the answers
to problems already solved. Having said that, keep the problems your cyber-sex
life private <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/smile.gif" width="15" height="15">

</p>

<a href="#top">top</a>

<a name="where"></a>

WHERE TO POST YOUR QUERY

Post your message in the relevant section - Newbie questions in General Help
Section, Actionscript questions in the Actionscript Section and General comments
in the Chat section. Pretty easy huh?

</p>

<a name="how"></a>

HOW TO POST YOUR QUERY

&nbsp;
<ul>
<a name="precise"></a>Be Precise - Make you post easy to read and
to the point

<a name="provide"></a>Provide an URL - If you mention a site or
page, link to it, then make sure it works.

<a name="thorough"></a>Be Thorough - Abbreviations and
&quot;chat-room&quot; acronyms are inappropriate for a technical forum.
Flashkit.com is visited by many from around the world who speak different
languages and use different abbreviations and &quot;chat-room&quot;
acronyms. Why make it hard on yourself to get an answer?

<a name="accurate"></a>Be Accurate - Check your message for
typographical and grammatical errors. Check your URLs, too — click on
them.</li>
&nbsp;</p>

<a href="#top">top</a>

<a name="reply"></a>

WHEN TO REPLY

When someone answers your question or when you want to respond.

</p>

<a name="newtopic"></a>

WHEN TO USE THE NEW TOPIC BUTTON

When your question is unique on the bulletin board. This means there are
currently no threads existing that deal with your question.

</p>

<a name="multiple"></a>

MULTIPLE POSTING

Multiple posting is posting the same message over and over again, it's bad
karma and really annoying. I always get a funny feeling of deja vu <img src="http://www.flashkit.com/ubb/smile.gif" width="15" height="15">

</p>

<a href="#top">top</a>

<a name="crosspost"></a>

DON'T CROSS-POST

Post your messages in the most relevant section. Posting the same message to
a number of sections is just plain rude (and annoying). Many visitors view a
number of different sections so they'll see your question soon enough. Why put
them off answering you?

</p>

That's it folks! Send us your comments for improvements on this document,
we'd love to hear from you! So until then happy flashing on the Flashkit UBB!

</p>

Eddie
