Hi.
It could be that the audio of your Quicktime file is protected.

Your sound needs to be exported in your source file at 44.100kHz - 16bit - stereo - non protected. Make sure the "import audio" checkbox in Flash/Spark on import.

Hi Wheels,
Are you saying that to import a video with audio into Flash MX the audio has to be encoded at 44.100kHz - 16bit - stereo?
That hasn't been my experience.

I'm qouting a book, Flash MX studio. I've been following the guideline and have had no problems. What are the options - or does it even matter?

It works with Mpeg1 (but not Mpeg2). It will also work with Mpeg4 AVIs.

If you do a search you can find mpeg video all over the web. You can also encode your own.

Here's the skinny on why some sounds won't import with your movie.

The codec used to encode the audio portion of your movie must be supported on your machine.

Likewise, when importing video such as .wmv, you need to have a player installed that supports that format in order for Flash to recognize it.

If you are having problems with .mpg or .mpeg, open them up with a program on your computer and resave (recompress) with your software.
