Is it possible to save a single jpg from a local webcam to a flash
communication server.

I should work like this:

By pressing a button in flash, a snapshot from the local webcam will be
taken and should be saved on a server.

This special picture needs a special id, which could be send to a php

Which server do I need and which configuration (bandwidh).
Any suggestion where I could find such a hoster.

Would the Concept Version fit to my project?

Hey -
The close thing I can think of would be to have a timer set. It won't save a jpeg as far as I know, but you could use camera.setMode(); to set the fps to 1, and then have a 1 second or less timer that captured only 1 frame. You can specify a file name and the directory to be saved in on the server in actionscript, or have a textield to specify the name.

You could simply keep track of the images with a shared object,or send the filename/id to your php script.

If you don't expect more than 10 users at once, you should be fine with the concept plan.

Hope that helps! My fcs server just died (the pc hosting it anyway). I have an example of how to save video to a file and generate a playlist available here:

tricky idea ... psy ..

there is option what i read but not in my mind rightnow ...

read outNs.publish() function ...

in it you have to choose something so you can have snap of the outgoing stream ... not the full feed of video ..

hope this helps.
