Hi guys and gals,

Ive been using flash 5 for a while, and Im becoming quiet good at Actionscripting for sound control, but I want to use some digital video elements for some presentations and I have no idea where to start looking on how to use flash mx and video. If someone could point me in the direction of a good mx tute on using video, and some examples I would be very greatful.

Hi.
What exactly are you looking for?
You may want to check out this information on the Macromedia website:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/video_resources.htm
We also have many tutorials on using video on our site:
http://www.wildform.com/resources/tutorials.php
If you post a specific question I can try to assist you further.

Thanks Jophnathan I'll take a look at both the macromedia site and your tutes. :)

Basically the end product Im after is a mpg player for presentations. At the momment I have almost what you could say is an 'mp3 player', using attachment of sound to soundObjects with play, pause, stop, rewind, fastword and volume playback controls, and soon it will be dynamically loading mp3's.

I want to change/ adapt this player to play mpgs in much the same way it does sound at the momment. The user will hopefully be able to load the player, select a presentation from a 'playlist' which gets presentations dynamically. Then the player loads selected presentation(not streamed, sound will fully load first) and they have use oif playback controls. They then should be able to continue through loading and watching other mpg presentations from playlist..

Of course since its only me, im hoping i dont have to change much of what I have done for the mp3 player.

Sorta get it? :P

Hi.
You can't dynamically load mpeg's into the Flash player. The only external video file that it can do that with is an .mov. But you can convert your mpeg's to flash.
