I also really like the 'response' series that australianinfront (http://www.australianinfront.com.au/) runs, they have static responses to single word themes (http://www.australianinfront.com.au/visualresponse/refugee/) and dynamic (flash) responses (http://www.australianinfront.com.au/flashresponse/backyard/interface_frm.html)

good stuff and inspiration for the kind of ideas I think would do well here. A flash battle doesn't have to involve all actionscripting and code patterns, it can just as easily be a visual motion thing.

edit - and I wanted to add that this (http://www.australianinfront.com.au/visualdialogue/08/index.html) PS battle is by far one of the best I've seen, these guys must be swapping PSDs rather than flat JPGS though!
