O. K. I am holding this thread hostage. No posting in here until you vote HERE. (http://flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?t=638257) ;)

Let's go with something a little bit harder this week, let's use WATER as this week's theme.

You can't find water just anywhere, so get out (it's Summer for Erik's sake!!) and go find some. Let see what water is in your area. Share!! Oh wait!!! VOTE (http://flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?t=638257) and then share!!

Use this week's theme creatively and let's see those photos!!

As always, the Ru|3z:

This is NOT a PhotoShop battle it is a photography battle. Only slightly touched up photos may be submitted.
Let's keep the file and image size under FK guidelines (under 750 px wide).
All photographs must be related to the current weekly theme.
Photographs must be taken by the idividual posting (no stealing photos).
Use any camera (ie. cellphone, point-and-shoot, disposable) just submit!
Multiple submission are welcomed.
Photos must be no more than a week old. Take some NEW pictures people!

Have fun, get creative, post as often as you like.

Note: All images and/or photographs posted in this thread are the private property of the individual posting. No rights are given to anyone viewing this post. Use of any image posted in this thread is illegal and punishable by law, unless express permission is given by the photographer.

Walking through the park today I saw this duck feeding on something that was on the bottom of the canal. She was rather persistant so I took a few shots of her showing her tail feathers above the water.

My friend Neil, who looks a bit like me underwater, apparently. I put my camera in a re-sealable plastic bag and just poked it under the water for this one.

These really suck, but seeing as how I will not be around Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday I am posting them anyways.

Robb, I wanted to comment on those photos when they were in the no talking thread. Those two are just plain OSM!! Really fine work, and I want copies for desktop wallpapers in both B&W and in color!!! Really, really, really nice work man.

Thanks Evp!

No colour versions i'm afraid as I made the schoolboy error of shooting in JPEG and had B&W enabled (I thought I was in RAW and the colour would be kept anyhow  ). Also, for the record ;), I didn't have a tripod and because of the JPEG compression I do not think the quality is acceptable for a wallpaper, i'm only posting these because they are requested...

I'll have to revisit the spot with RAW enabled and tripod in hand!

I'm glad you did... those blowups are super nice... i wouldn't even worry about the quality or color. Sometimes it is hard for me to see just how good a shot really is at 800 or 750 or whatever.

Rob, those fotos are great in B&W! In fact, if they were colour it would take away from the serene effect they have I think. Beautiful work!

EV, I don't know what you were thinking!!

Asheep, that one under water was VERY Creative! I hope if you try that again, your bag does not spring a leak! But if you do try it again, try taking one in a river or pond with tadpoles or fish. That would be VERY COOL!

Skate, I hope that fish was in a tank!!! He looks dangerous!

Any tips on shooting shots like this with something just below the water surface? I always get a reflection into the lens?

I am using a skylight-filter and it was overcast weather.
Not sure about the filter but bad weather should help :)

A polarizing filter will take care of most of the glare and reflection on the water's surface. They are fairly inexpensive (http://cgi.ebay.com/58MM-CIRCULAR-POLARIZER-FILTER-CANON-REBEL-XT-20D-18-55_W0QQitemZ7524558246QQcategoryZ74909QQssPageName ZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) as well.

nice fish.....
