I thought some of you may find these interesting. I took these late at night with a very big light. Let me know what you think.

did you 'paint' the trees with the big light?

I really like the look of those.
the composition is really nice on the second one
with all the stars.
i like the eerie look of the trees on the third.

Well i more just shined the light straight into the sky so the light dispersed to light the trees up. I didn't really paint them as much as light them up with a constant beem.

wow milo, there's some cool stuff going on in there.
the shadows on the trees (upper right) in the third shot...nice!
overall palette is cool too.
i'd like to see higher res shots.
it's hard to tell how crisp that focus is...

how long were the exposures?

The first one is 5 sec, f/3.5, at iso 800, the second was 30 sec, f/4, iso 1600 and the third was 30 sec, f/3.5, iso 1600.
