Lomo LC-A

Some people find them a bit of a sell out, they're not particularly well made either; but it's worth it just for the amazing stunning photos you occasionally get. One thing I will say about it, if it breaks, you can fix it using a pen knife.

Nikon F301

Wonderful camera, but I'm trying to sell it so I can buy the D50. Also got a few lenses. Sigma 24-70mm is the one I use most of the time.

Sony DSC W12
http://www.digitalko.hu/termekek/kepek/sony-dscw12.jpg
My digital camera. Fast start up time, quick at taking photos, big screen, 5 megapixels, batteries take about 350 photos on one charge. Nice camera, but it really isn't an SLR.

i've also got a 70-300mm 1:2 macro that i'm planning to sell.

Here's mine (well, not mine but my company's camera)...i'm the only one who 'knows' how to use it...all the other ladies in the office say "i can't get clear pictures...this camera sucks". I however love it (still trying to figure out some of hte finer settings).

No, it seems they have been delaying the release of it for quite some time now. I am going to wait and see though. Once it is widely available I am sure there will be alot of reviews and images to look at as there is already alot of buzz about it. I am just biding my time until then as I am not in any rush.

I have a Canon EOS 20D, 18-55mm lens, 300mm lens, 14mm wide-angle lens, various flashers, a Hasselblad 555ELD medium-format, Hasselblad HC 3.5-4.5 50-10mm lens, Hasselblad HC 4 120mm Macro lens, HOLGA, Canon EOS 300 35mm, various dark-room apparatus (colour projector, bw projector, film developer canisters, etc.) and some studio equipment (spotlights, light meters, etc.).

Very often. In fact, more often than the 20D. I don't know, it's something about the medium format film that's just so appealing. The 20D is a very, very good camera, and I'm very happy with it, but my heart still lies with film. The charm of a dark room is unmistakable - I just love the smell of the chemicals, the feeling of your hands after working with those chemicals, and the fact you see a picture appearing in front of you - to me that's all a bit more what photography is all about.

I use one of two Leicas — an M4 or a 3G, usually fitted with a 50mm Elmar lens. I hate artificial lighting, above all the flash. As a 19-year-old art student I learnt the maxim said to have been written on the wall of Plato’s Academy, 'No one enters here but geometricians', and made it into my creed. Here's me with my Leica:

I am thinking about getting this particular digicam (had thought about FZ4 -- it is only £20-odd difference!)

What is FZ5 like? The zoom? The macro? The lens quality? Quick start up? Quick photo taking? I know there are reviews like steves-digicams and dpview but thought it would be good to hear directly from a fellow FK member. :)

Damn man, your gonna need an assistant soon to carry everything around.

What do you think of the Extension tubes, what lense do you use them with? I have a $75 gift certificate on amazon, and I have been thinking about getting some to use with my 18-70mm.

Or should I just save up and buy a true macro?

ctranter
09-23-2005, 06:47 PM
I will mainly use them on my 400mm but also, for some major maagnification, with my macro. If you are serious about getting some decent 1:1 macro you will need a macro lens, if not then you should be able to get reasonable shots with tubes, for a lot cheaper.
