hi guys/girls,

not sure if this is allowed, but i found a nice way to get flat looking digi still pics looking nice. it was searching on some tutorial sites and was quite pleased with the results.

open a pic in photoshop, then duplicate the background layer.

convert it to lab color, but don't flatten

in the channels, select "a", and do a levels. auto usually does the trick, but tweaking it a bit is a good idea to get a good result.

do the same with channel "b" and then select the top layer, showing all comped together.

go back to your layers and do a slight blur on the top layer

convert back to rgb, but dont flatten

then choose "overlay" transparency

bobs your uncle, a nice looking pic
