Not a whole lot of participation on the last theme. I hope this changes this week, and it will be only a week from now until.....well, I get busy again.

So, I have been saving this theme for some time now, just waiting to see if we all can really do it justice. I think we can do more than that. Let's get to it everyone, let's show of our skills and capture some MOTION.

Use this week's theme creatively and let's see those photos!!

As always, the Ru|3z:

This is NOT a PhotoShop battle it is a photography battle. Only slightly touched up photos may be submitted.
Let's keep the file and image size under FK guidelines (under 750 px wide).
All photographs must be related to the current weekly theme.
Photographs must be taken by the idividual posting (no stealing photos).
Use any camera (ie. cellphone, point-and-shoot, disposable) just submit!
Multiple submission are welcomed.
Photos must be no more than a week old. Take some NEW pictures people!

Have fun, get creative, post as often as you like.

Like that, but not so crappy :p

09-06-2005, 07:31 PM

Common darter

It is very heavily cropped and the only one out of about 60 that was in focus.

09-07-2005, 03:33 AM
how the hell did you get that??
ps. wow

09-07-2005, 10:29 AM
Just been out and got a slightly better one, still heavily cropped. Need a 180mm macro..

09-07-2005, 11:13 AM

Rushed-pshoped out a big pile of rubbish on the left side, which is why it looks a bit dodgy there.

09-07-2005, 12:27 PM
ctanter, that last dragonfly shot is very impressive.

09-08-2005, 09:10 PM
A little old, but whos counting :P

He is. :)

As punishment for your error, you must post at least 3 photos taken today that qualify for this theme, and say 5 Hail EVPs.

The photo thing is real, but if you can write a good Hail EVP prayer, I'll post 3.

* takes off glove and slaps Bobalouy in the face *

09-09-2005, 01:48 PM
rules are rules, but either way that's a cool snap! :)

09-09-2005, 06:37 PM
*cough* 3 photos *cough*

09-11-2005, 03:10 AM
Took it last night...guess it's crappy too but could not do any better...

09-11-2005, 03:26 AM
Maybe the compression made it look all artifacty. But beyond that it is a really good shot. Nice capture there Frex.

That near your house? I read you are from Germany? A lot of those fields around?

09-11-2005, 03:44 AM
It is about one mile from my house...btw the biggest windpark as we call it in all of Europe...more than 130 mills here and NO dead birds! :)

awesome photo

09-12-2005, 03:47 PM

Grrr! Angry at chopping off half the bottom heron, and needed a slightly faster shutter speed to freeze the motion better.

09-13-2005, 05:42 PM

09-13-2005, 06:22 PM
Nice on EVP, shame the tray thing on the right isn't all in focus, though that would no doubt be difficult to achieve with fast shutter speed.

09-13-2005, 08:06 PM
Nice shot.. That is totally awesome. How did you actually get that?

09-13-2005, 10:35 PM
that freaking rocks EVP.

09-14-2005, 03:35 AM
the starlings outside my window

09-14-2005, 08:55 AM
great shot e!
carly - two good snaps. some great composition and color.

09-14-2005, 09:01 AM
thank you :D

09-14-2005, 11:22 AM

09-14-2005, 11:55 AM
Wow carly very nice. I especially like the second one. It's closer and the antenna is more to the right. Really good work.

I only took 2 shots of that dripping water (missed it on the first one). That is a glass table that we have outside. I filled a planter too full of water and it started overflowing. I went in and grabbed the camera to get some snaps of a bee that was trying to play with me but it was gone when I got back outside. By then the planter was dripping once every 3-5 seconds. I just watched it and got the timing down and >click!< Oh, and I used a flash. :shhh:

09-20-2005, 04:59 PM

09-20-2005, 05:05 PM
dude, amazing.
so, what is your method?

09-20-2005, 05:05 PM
Wow nords, looks like nordboy is growing up fast. Nice captures too.

Bobalouy, good work.....Subaru WRXs, Autocross.....

:Edit: Very nice ctranter. What lens are you using for these photos?

09-20-2005, 05:49 PM
They're taken with the 100mm f/2.8 macro. I was actually out looking for kingfishers, I just sit down along side the waterway opposite my house and see what happens. There were huge number of these guys out today, about 10+, so really it was only a matter of time before one came close. The Migrant hawkers tend to be quite inquisitive and will hover in one spot nicely quite close to you. Its just a case of mfocusing quickly enough. I actually used a tripod for these ones.

Bobalouy, good work.....Subaru WRXs, Autocross.....

Actually just imprezas, the White L has a wrx engine swap . And the other 2 Impreza RS's were turbo I think. This was at the Subaru Challange, unfortunaly I missed registraion so I couldnt race this year.
