Creative Talent!

News Interactive is seeking exceptional talent to join our Creative Team.
The Creative Team is responsible for maintaining the design quality and standards of all sites in the News Interactive network. Positions are currently open for designers, front end and multimedia developers. We value a collaborative approach to innovation and excellence.

All applicants should possess:

--outstanding web portfolio and a proven understanding of interface design, usability, information architecture and online branding
--ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, learn software quickly, and willingness to keep up with internet technology
--excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Prior experience in a corporate environment and/or large-scale media sites is a plus. Knowledge of After Effects and Final Cut will be well regarded. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate an innovative approach to their work.

Designers

Designers will be required to translate business and content architecture specifications into online designs ranging from whole sites to individual areas, forms and graphics. You will apply fundamental analytical and creative skills to identifying and evaluating design alternatives and to developing or participating in developing aspects of assigned design projects.

-- Illustrator
-- Flash
-- Html (basics)
-- Tertiary Design Degree

Front-end developers

Front-end developers will work closely with visual designers, producers, product managers, and engineers to create some of the most trafficked pages on the internet, bridging the gap between static visual interface design and content management production.
-- Expert knowledge of web standards
-- Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS
-- JavaScript
-- Advanced knowledge of browser compatibility issues
-- Understanding and/or experience working with content publishing systems

Multimedia developer

A Multimedia developer is required to translate rough concepts into working prototypes and implement a variety of different media, such as text, graphics, video, animation, and sound, to create a cohesive interactive user experience.
-- Strong skills in animation and online multimedia
-- Advanced knowledge of web design tools (Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks) and CSS/W3C standards
-- Experience with HTML, DHTML, PHP, CSS and other web languages and multimedia applications
-- Thorough knowledge of Actionscript programming and Flash/XML integration
-- Experience integrating multimedia products with back-end technologies
-- Knowledge of video formats and codecs, bandwidth usage and video editing will be highly regarded
