Hi Guys,
SkyRocket Interactive is a start-up company focused mainly on creating quality Flash Games, though we also do other web/interactive multimedia stuff. Anyways, we are almost finished with our very first game so we thought we'd let you in on it.
The game is Nth Legion. A world where players acquire different units, each with their own abilities, and battle it out for the sake of survival... and being the BEST while they're at it.
Here are some screenshots of the actual game:

This is where you buy units to strengthen your army

And this is where you setup units to form squads. You can use 1 squad per battle, where 1 squad can contain a maximum of 10 units

Nth Legion is currently nearing BETA completion, we just have to iron out a few bugs. We also intend to build a community for news and updates, we already have the site ready, but we're still trying to find a hosting site.
Hope you guys would be available and willing to Beta test this once we have it ready sometime next month. More news on this game will be posted right here on this thread, so do watch out for it. Thanks a bunch!

wowzers, that's looking pretty impressive. Personally I don't really get turn based battles games, but they sure are popular out there on the webbernet, so best of luck to you all.

Seems really fine, I never play that kind of games, but there are many people that love them
I prefer to play really simple games if I'm on the web and play complex games on my PS2 or Xbox or Game cube, LOL
Good look!, seems really good

Thanks guys,
Game concept and planning stated way back sometime around mid-2004, and the actual coding started about a year after (mainly because it stated out as project amongst friends). Now that an investor has come in, more resources have now been available to allow fulltime production.
We don't want to release a half-cooked game so everything is being tested to the smallest detail. The scripts are in place and are now being optimized for best performance.
One thing's for sure, this game won't go to waste. Or so we hope. :) There are thousands and thousands of Flash games out there, some totally kick-*ss, some are promising, and a couple of disappointments. We want this game to be an example to all developers to strive to do their best, and make something that players will enjoy. We all know that Flash has limitations and performance issues, but with Nth Legion, we hope to get comments like: This is a Flash game??? Cool!. Just because it looks nice, and performs the way we want it to.
All of us (including you) develop Flash games. And in order for the "industry" to grow and strengthen, we must support it. Support the indies. Support the games. Anyway, for more useful reading about what i'm trying to say... here's a link to a great thread:

Looks great from the screen shots. Will be looking forward to the final result. What program did you use to model the characters and environment? they look great. And how many people are a part of the team putting this little beauty together?

Excellent work, Earl223. I hope this gets thousands of players, because it looks like it deserves it.
I'd also like to know what you're using to model the characters and environment. Those really pop out when I look at those screenies.

We are currently using two 3D apps: Maya for environments/maps, and Blender for the characters. A total of 14 people are working on this: 1 project manager, 2 Flash programmers, 3 3D artists, 2 Graphic Designers, 2 Animators, 3 2D/Concept Artists, 1 Music guy.

By the way, we also made a map editor. I posted something about it in a thread once... but for those of you who weren't able to get a glimpse of it, here it is:

Just curious what the map generator was written in? Looks very swift. Read your blog and it says the generator exports the non textured map as an image so you can import it into 3dmax or Photoshop to color and model and so on. Does this mean that every tile is unique in its design? Is the game tilebased in the sense of graphics? Or will the map be one big image?
I have to say this is one of the most impressive, if not THE most impressive flash games I've ever seen. The best of luck to you, and I'll be sure to check it out when it's released!

Thanks for the comments. :)
To answer your questions:
cis4life: We will be using ElectroServer (http://www.electro-server.com)
hooligan2001: The Map Generator was made in Flash, and we used Zinc (http://www.multidmedia.com/software/zinc/) to add other functionalities like saving to textfiles, and exporting images. We use the Map Generator for 2 things:
1) Make maps, then export the "code" needed by the game to generate the maps as transparent tile movieclips
2) Export the map into an image so that the 3D guys can render in into one big background.
The tile movieclips are then layed out over the background. So to answer your question... the maps will be one big image.

We'll definitely strive for that. I guess everyone wants to see their games make it big. :)
