i just created a 15k swf that plays really nicely when viewed in the regular size (the size that the movie is set at is 600 x 300), but when i set it to maximize itself (100% x 100%) inside an html window, the animation gets pretty choppy, and almost slows to a stop (even causing other flash ani's on the page to slow down).
true, there are are several alpha fades, but i've used similar effects before without such a problem.
(here's a link to the swf, to check out)
http://www.robkamphausen.com/misc/my_middle_49.swf
that above link is a little larger than the regular movie (as it extends to fill the window horizontally), but doesnt sacrifice much smoothness.
this link, below, however, is the html link:

this is the one that ill actually be using (where the settings expand the movie 100% x 100%)
any ideas? im dying here, working on a deadline!
i really hope you can help!!!!!
thanks! :)

Hi Drkknght,
You are using a raster image ...which is most likely the exact size of your movie....the moment you enlarge the movie, the raster image starts to pixelate...
hope that's clear

heya ran! thanks for the feedback
how DARE you call my image a raster!! :)
..uh... seriously, whutchya talkin bout, willis? if you're referring to the bitmap-ness of the blue/black clouds in the background, well... then i could understand.
however, even when i remove the clouds, and just leave a solid dark blue color as the background, i get the same (tho slightly less apparent) slowdown in the forground flash text animation (the white fading halo/glow - created with radial gradients - at the end of the movie is the most notable speed loss)
