Shadow effect for text

Is there a way to give your text a shadow effect so that the lettering won't conflict with your background?

here you go, do your text, copy it, change the color of one of them and change the X and Y coordinates over and up/down 1-3 pixels, font size dependant. I like this used with the scale action, one one or both.
