First off ,l really like this program ,its so easy to build a flash movie , flash 5 has given me fits the last couple of wks ,everything in flash requires a mountain of settings and varibles to do what takes seconds to do with koolmoves .
I build interactive presentation cds with a program called Multimedia Builder, http://www.mediachance.com/ which is a great program ,its to Macromedia Director what Koolmoves is
to flash , anyway l want to use the flash movies built with KM from a cd , now l read somewhere here about daisey chaining movies with KM and that KM is limited to movie sizes of 2mg ,do movies set up this way go from one to the next movie without the viewer knowing that a new show has started .
How does KM handle sound ,l made a small demo with a wav file being played ,when l imported the swf into flash ,there was no sound ?
If 2mg is KMs limit wouldnt that be reached very quickly using sound and pictures ,if they daisey chain smoothly and the viewer doesnt see the transition it would not matter about the 2mg limit ,but if it goes through a obvious change on screen ,it would look quite messy for my cd presentations .
Thanks guys :)

I'll let Johnie address the daisey chaining issue. It is doable and is used by professionals to stream large movies. It is my understanding that sound does not import into Flash with the swf.

Okay, when daisey chained and a preloader is used to completly preload the SWF then it typically isn't noticible- All of the content at http://www.wildbrian.com uses daisey chaining. Very seldom can a user tell especially if you used Load Movie to Load and Unload your Background. In order to Daisey Chain you Use Load Movie. I recommend that you do this. Create a Base Movie that Loads in the other media and then loops- make sure that you do not loop in the load movie action. Load your main movie into Level 2 and your Background into level 1. Run your Movie to the end then Use a Load Movie Command into the level 2- this will load the new movie into the level. Then create aditional frames and loop back. If you want to get real fancy you can always have aditional movies preloaded and then just use Tell Target to start them.
The Flash Player itself can only handle 3-4 Meg. In Fact 2 Meg is quite reasonable. http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...s/bigflash.htm this is a tech note on how large a SWF can be. See its not documented but when a SWF starts getting around 3 meg it starts doing wierd things. Many times it will crash the machine. I have seen very few SWFS that work that are over 4 meg and A lot of people who have created 5 meg > Flash movies almost always complaign thet the Flash is broken since I have never seen a SWF much greater than 4 meg work at all.

As always very instructive. I feel much better about the 2 MB limit. I will include some of this discourse in the help next go around.

Hey, I went to that site and looked at the program- The beta for media builder is pretty sweet.

What you are going to do is create an EXE. If you have FlashPLA.EXE it comes witrh the Flash Download use that to make EXEs if not get SWF Browser (The freeware download will allow EXE Creation) to make your EXE or SWF Studio (The trial will allow you to make EXE's). Once you have tyour EXE you then bind it and it becomes part of the media presentation. You can also make a HTML Object with your SWF on it.

Johney ,MMB is a fantasic program ,with its use of scripting is has awesome power ,its so easy to use and so powerfull ,as you said you can bind a flash exe within MMB ,the 4.8 version is in beta and the the binding feature is giving some guys trouble ,this will be fixed when the full version is releashed soon ,there is a flash plugin available that is rock solid from http://www.1800mns.com/
the plugin also gives you heaps more control than the flash player and it allows the flash movie to intereact with MMB and visa versa ,like l said MMB is to Director what Koolmoves is to Flash and its only $45 and MMB also boasts one of the most active forums out there ,a must for any person learning a program ,l carnt speak highly enough of this program and the service that goes with it .
glad to see you liked it :)
