a few suggestions

1. be able to rename a shape in the properties popup or a 'right click' option rather than going into the shapes list.

2. A grid that can zoom with the zoom level. Current grid is the same size on every zoom level. If I want to draw based on the grid at 2x, the grid is still the same size as if it were at 1x.

3. Grid should generate itself based on the frame. Current grid overlays the whole screen and most of the time the top left grid corner is not aligned with the top left frame corner.

If any of these have work arounds or are approached differently, please let me know...

Does anyone else find these three issues a "wish I could have" item?

The problem I run into with that is that if I need to move the frame for other reasons, it never really lines up 100% again. If the grid moved with the frame, and it was lined up based on the frame boundary that would be wonderful... but if thats not possible, if it just moved with the frame that would be a start.

I know many of the issues I bring up may appear "picky", but I thought i'd throw them out for discussion because I am finding that they create added steps and extra work.

I think KM is quickly becoming a heavy hitter development tool and some of the things I point out are found in other heavy hitter apps.

Please tell me if I become too picky. <grin>

how about a scroll bar for when the movie frame is longer than the screen? this would save a lot of time instead of having to pan the frame upward.

If you are referring to a web browser display... it already does this.

Make a movie that is very tall... say 400x1000

display it in browser preview... the browser has scroll bars to accomodate the length.

The FLAplayer makes the movie fit to screen or window border.

i'm referring to the work area, not the browser view. when building a movie with frame size say 650pixels x 900 pixels, the bottom of the frame is off the screen. when an object needs to be resized to fit the frame, you have to pan the screen upward and then resize, rather than just scrolling down like you could do if there was a scroll bar. if there is another way to do this i would like to hear it.

This is what really sets KM apart for all the others... the support and user feedback response is top notch!

I don't think I've ever dealt with a software vendor so accomodating and in synch with the end users!

I agree KoolMoves is great in so many ways!

Here is my request to increase convenience and speed.

Make keyboard shortcuts for some of the frequently used functions found in the
“Transforms” menu. They are listed in the order of use (by me).

rotate, scale, center, squish, perspective and slant.

Keyboard shortcuts are much faster than moving off the image being worked on, select
the “transforms” menu, drag down to the appropreate function select it, then move
back to the image again.

Short cuts are trivial to implement. The difficulty is in defining keys that haven't been used. Suggestions are welcome.

Bob -

one of the things I like about one of the other apps in my toolbox is the ability to define my own shortcuts.

Would this be a possibility? That would solve most gripes about key combos and let users build thier own sets.

We are investing an all-in-one transform that will combine most or all of the transforms in one screen presentation so you won't need to deal with the individual ones.

User assigned short cuts is not trivial to implement. I would prefer some short cut recommendations for the principal transforms.

I personally dont use the keyboard shortcuts... I always forget what they are! <grin>

I prefer the right click menu on objects... much easier for me!
