Each line that makes up the below equation can be moved. But the trick is to make this equation valid with out moving any of the lines...
XI + I = X
i know :
1+1=2
:)
XI+I= XI+I
(You never said I couldn't add some lines... :D)
XI=+IX
You have the right ideas but you cant move any of the lines :)
Let X=0 and I=0
XI + I = X
0*0 + 0 = 0
0 + 0 = 0
0 = 0
Works for me. That's solution #2.
let X = 1 I = .5
XI +I = X
1*.5 + .5 = 1
.5 + .5 = 1
1 = 1
Solution #3. (I still like my first one the best)
Sorry, the lines make up roman numerals, they dont indicate variables :)
This is one of those that you just sort of kick yourself after ;)
Here is the solution :)
XI + I = X , is not a valid equation. 11+1=12 not 10
Well if you flip that upside down, none of the lines are moved and you get X = I + IX which is 10=1+9 a valid equation!!
Doh!
:D
goodness.... sooo fricking puzzling, yet so simple. d'oh. hehe.
Rice raver... you dint get that!!! ???
TheEnigma steps back in amazment!!!
Rice the king of all conundrums - dint get it! Must be hard!
