I propose a new forum, a kind of "creative first look" or design prototype area. A place where people can get feedback on their initial designs.
For example, say I am developing a website, but I want feedback on the creative before I spend hours developing in flash and html. So I link up a series of Jpgs, gifs.. or maybe a small flash file, to get my point accros... Then I post this to the forum and people can comment on the initial design.
This accomplishes two things, I a way of getting feedback on my design without investing more hours into production. I can even have discussions on site archetecture, and navigation stratagies before I break ground in flash and/or html.
I think this would be a good companion to the Site Check forum.
In the Site Check forum, after all the work someone has done designing and producing the site in Flash & Html...etc, giving feedback in regards to the look and feel of the site is almost a mute point.
If the look and feel of the site looks awful, and the individual has spent dozens of hours in flash and html production do develop the site. Any significant feedback at this point would either constitute an entire design rework. I think most people are just looking for a "good job", or "works fine on my system" and minor tweaks and feedbacks in the Site Check area, (which is great in and of itself) ..
The new Forum would focus on pre-production design issues. This would allow a dialogue centered composition, navigation stratagies, architecture, look and feel, color usage.. etc..
Just an Idea,
peace!
