Just one wish ...? :(
On the tools panel, it would be nice if the little arrows that extend the tool options were a bit bigger.
:)
Those buttons are on a timer. If you depress for a fraction of a second on the button face, the submenus will appear.
Owen is right,BOB !Quote:

He's talking about those "microscopic" triangles from the right bottom corner of each button.
Just imagine how "easy" is to click them at 1280x1024 !
but Owen...
this is not a new feature !!!
I would definitely appreciate a better ActionScript Editor. Maybe add a tree with the ActionScript function libary to the editor.
Next on the list is the ability to do more editing/changing of objects when in the over/down states of buttons.
Please add the ability to change the colors using HEX and RGB instead of just RGB. Some web/graphics editors use HEX and RGB.
AntiAliased Fonts, the fonts I used for some of my buttons just don't look the same from Koolmoves as they do from Flash 5/6. I use exactly the same font yet they show up differently in the final movie.
Add a tree view of the movie... Kinda like the movie explorer thats dockable to the screen edges.
----
PS
I know these are some tough calls since I am also a C++/Delphi developers I know what it takes to make additions to software.
Your product is most excellent, keep up the good work.

-> There is a tree of action script functions under help but you can't drag them or select them to the editor if that is what you are referring to.
Next on the list is the ability to do more editing/changing of objects when in the over/down states of buttons.
-> I don't understand this.

-> I admit that our anti-aliasing is weak but this is difficult to improve.

-> We have avoided a tiled interface because it tends to severely restrict the drawing area. I can make the movie overview screen which was implemented in version 3.50 so it can reside on the screen. Version 3.60 will allow most of the major view screens to be easily reduced to a title bar and back. I think we have adopted more of a Photoshop type approach to managing data views.
Sorry Bob,
To clarify the AScript Tree. I would like to see a floating window that has all the action script functions/vars etc that one can use.
I am thinking it might be good to use a similar expandable tree like in Flash MX action script editor. I realize this may be asking for much but it would be nice.
Does the AntiAliased font issue have something to do with the Flash Export Libaries or is it the KM Graphics engine? You might want to take a look at some open Source graphics applications. The GIMP is probably on par with Photoshop level editors and the source code is available for download what with it being open source.
Anyway I am just taking a stab in the dark here simply because your product in my opinion is easier and better than Swish2. Looking forward to Version 3.6.

hehe. So I get another wish!?! :)
How about showing the x/y of a selected point on status bar?
And as KoolMoves gains market dominance (* evil laugh  tomorrow the world! *) and new users, a revamp of the help system. A really comprehensive help with levels for beginners, intermediate, advance, and indexed.
This will save heaps of time and effort in the long term, and will, I am sure, increase upgrades from demo to licenced.
( PS: Bob, thanks for the info there. I didn't realise that holding the button down for a moment did the same thing as seeking out the tiny arrow. Hehe. A very small (pun intended) irritation disappears! )
V 4.0 is a bit out... In either 4.0 or 5.0 I'd like to see SVG import/export. Shouldn't take precedent over more important things though.
I agree with NecroManthus,
From my point of view, a symbol library is the most important thing.
With the new MX ActionScript functionality that is soon to be released in KM, a library will allow us to take full advantage of the increased Object-Oriented nature of MX actionscript. At the moment there is no (easy/convienient) way of associating a custom Object with a symbol in the library (not to mention the duplication of Objects that we have to do now and increased file size because of it).
New things like "createTextField" will be a little limiting if you can't attach a scrollbar "component" from the library.
I would eventually like to see KM have its own set of "Components" that you can just drag and drop onto the stage or script dynamically with ActionScript - until we have a symbol library, this is not easily accomplished....
If you are into ActionScript, you will soon not know which way to turn because of all the new AS functionality - creating movieclips and textboxes on the fly, XML, local shared objects (which allow you to save info to the client PC - like cookies), loadVars Object, drawing API (draw dynamically with ActionScript),Movie clip buttons and the new MX event model which means no more onClipEvent within mc's....These are just a few of the things Bob has been working on.
With the increasing ActionScript functionality, I would also like to see some form of simple dubug functionality - list variables/Objects would be good.
Bob has put an awful lot of effort into KM, and he always bends over backwards to try and please everyone.
Way-to-go Bob...
Hilary

Actually, those are some sound points, Hilary.
hehe. Maybe a line should be drawn, with KoolMoves as we know it on one side (the "lite" version) and the new KoolMoves (xTREMEly KoolMoves) :) on the other - with a Surgeon General warning on the package.
This next release really sounds awesome. *Salivates*
And yes, props to Bob.
bkrawage - intresting (and usefull) requests
Owen - excellent idea (I'll be allways an XY(Z) fan) :p
Johnie - from now on you'll be the "SVG Man" :p
Hilary - you're my "brother" after all ...
BOB - let's see what can you do :p
SVG has been on my WishList since V 1.5 or so. It is becoming more important. ToonBoom, Corel Draw, Illustrator, and Swift3D export as SVG and more tools that used to just export SWF are now Exporting SVG and SWF. Mobile platforms are also all suporting SVG.Quote:

If KoolMoves gets SVG added to it there would be a common file in which to share work between aplications.
Not to mention that Corel is dumping all its got left into SVG which will prompt Adobe to dump more resources into it as well.
Likewise MS is dumping considerable investements in XML. SVG is XML.
The new functions in Flash 6 allow you to render a subset of SVG - as it is XML.
Likewise SVG will soon be available for use in XUL.
- However Like I said GUI enhancements and improvements... and even the Library should take precedent over SVG export/Import.
I also think Bob has been doing a good job in getting new stuff into KM
Johnie you're the SVG Man for sure !
(don't be sad,I'm agree with you) :p
I need to import 3DS files into KM ... ha ha ha
:mrpimp:

John U.
SVG imp/exp would be a big improvement .
I would like to see dynamic moving of objects while scaling, rotating, etc in 4.0
These are all good ideas. There is a tension between improving the usability for beginners and advanced funtionality for expert users. Usability increases sales. It is not clear that advanced functionality does because the users drawn to advanced funtionality will most likely use Flash. In some cases advanced functionality is important for features which appeal to the masses like action script based text effects (our motion scripts). The next appealing feature -- 3D text effects -- built on advanced functionality is in the works and may possibly be ready for the next version.

-> This antialiasing is bitmap based which is totally different than vector based antialiasing.
It's true !Quote:

But what about "rescale with interpolation" (cutting lines & columns from images it's easy, but UGLY).
Also I think you must improve the EPS/WMF import feature (I had a lot of problems here).
I'm not a "TEXT effects" fan,but for dynamic text a "selectable/not" feature would be great.
About ActionScript...later.
But,as I said,the NO.1 (for me) is a "Movie Library"
:mrpimp:
There are so many text effect editors on the market already. A better choise could be if this advanced functionality would be implemented for objects (mc's) as well.Quote:
