I'm confused, please help

Ok, I downloaded of lot of .fla files off flashkit to see how these movies are made. Most of the ones i got were ones of people walking. But the weird thing is, that in the fla file is just shows a object moving across the scree, by a motion tween. But in the actually swf file the man is moving his legs walking across the screen. ?what's going on? Is it like you make an animation then inserted it into flash or something? or is it that u make the persons legs move by frame-by-frame of something similar in flash? please help me on this one. I would need to see the fla that you are talking about in order to answer you correctly.

The 'object' is no doubt the movie clip of the walking animation. The animation done in the mc timeline and the clip brought on stage and tween'd to move across the stage. Open the library and look in there. Or the symbol drop down list.
